This is a light introduction. Some people put in extensive effort throughout their life trying to figure out their purpose. No one instantly KNOWS their purpose. I believe it comes with trial and error. We all love a variety of things and end up trying them all. Well, I have some awesome news; trying them all and failing isn't such a bad thing. It's actually good to fail because it teaches you something. The word says "..... Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.." This perseverance is what catapults many into their purpose and passion. It builds endurance within us to push through hard times and the "hell" that life throws us. The aftermath of dealing with "hell" is a steamy by-product that fuels our engines towards a meaningful and successful journey. Don't get weary.

Here is a piece of life's trials that placed me just where I am today.

After graduating I experienced a few things:

  • I discovered I didn't know how to manage money. I never could give myself a detailed answer about where my money went.

  • I experienced the shared pain of hearing the stories of my family's many financial defeats.

  • While assisting my sister with college planning and securing financial aid as a senior, I discovered that she had no idea what FAFSA was. As a result, she had to delay starting her education by 6-7 months.

These events were my catapult into what I consider my purpose and passion. The trials sent me to my old stomping grounds, the library. I immersed myself in financial literacy and basic finance principles education. As I continued to learn those things I went to the Bible to see where the link was to validate my newly obtained knowledge. Now, if you mention a budget or wanting to get out of debt, you will literally have to say "Ok, Rod that's enough for now" to stop me (lol). This blog is my platform to accomplish a mission to help all people get ahead financially. Through this blog you will also hear testimonies of mine and others as we all succeed financially via principles in God's message. I want to learn with you, learn from you and teach you by showing you the....

tie between God and money

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
